Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories Inc., a company owned by Alcatel, and Veraz Networks have unveiled new capabilities for connecting advanced customer interaction and call center applications with existing resources.
Genesys allows for integration with over 65 different types of PBX exchanges and several multi-port bridge providers offered by market leaders, including Alcatel. The integration of the Genesys Voice Platform: Network Edition, an IP voice services platform, with the Veraz ControlSwitch – a softswitch platform – allows service providers to connect IP-based consumer activities and call center applications with existing PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) interfaces using PRI (Primary Rate Interface) and SS7 ISUP (ISDN User Part).
The predefined connection significantly reduces integration costs for providers, optimizes service provider network resources, and supports faster deployment of more advanced services for enterprises, including hosted call center applications – all through the same platform. This integration provides additional options for existing Genesys SS7 links.
Currently, Genesys and Veraz are working together on implementing new link features that will allow providers to make even fuller use of existing resources while simultaneously deploying applications very quickly for many types of call centers, including those using outsourcing.
