Ambitious plans regarding new solutions and equipment supplies for warehouse management and internal transport were presented at the end of last week in Zgierz by the executives of Aporter Sp. z o.o. (WANDALEX Group) during a nationwide meeting of nearly 50 representatives of processing plants, including those from the food and chemical industries. The attendees also familiarized themselves with the manufacturing process of certain devices directly on the production floor at Aporter’s factory, which was established as a result of the privatization of the Technical Equipment Plant (ZUT) in Zgierz.
In the opinion of the company’s vice-president, Lech Chojnacki, Aporter’s actions undertaken this year will aim to achieve a leading position in the Polish market for close-range transport equipment, including devices used for moving and storing pallets, europalettes, and bulk materials.
„To be able to sell well, you must first of all have consultants from the logistics industry. Their active operation is one of the main conditions for both market success and customer satisfaction. Especially since they must be aware that this type of equipment is not bought for 3 or 5 years, but for e.g. 12-15 years; this is particularly important for investments in warehouses with fast goods flow,” stated L. Chojnacki. He added that an important signal for the market is also the order execution time together with the installation of the device at the customer’s premises, which has been shortened from 8 to 2 weeks (on average).
The conveyor after unfolding the telescoping elements
Apart from warehouse racks for heavy and medium loads (including drive-in, live storage, and minirack) as well as standard and closed belt conveyors (hermetic and dust-proof), much attention was devoted by the attendees to the application possibilities in warehouse management of the telescoping belt conveyor (APORTER PTW 7/15.5/0.6), which significantly streamlines the loading of various types and sizes of delivery vehicles with little physical effort by the employee operating the device. Such conveyors have been used for years, for example, at the Polish Grain Plants PZZ SA in Kraków. As the president of the management board and general director of the company, Lucyna Jędrzejczyk, told me, the first such conveyor installed in the 1990s is still operating, despite the fact that the company has since purchased several newer ones and will install another one this January.

The APORTER telescoping belt conveyor has a supporting telescopic structure (2 telescoping segments and 1 fixed) as well as electrical and hydraulic systems. Depending on the version, it can be adapted for loading at a specific height or equipped with a hydraulic loading height adjustment system (± 400 mm). When folded, the PTW measures 7000×1060 mm, and when unfolded it reaches 15500×1060 mm; the average height of the device is 2600 mm, belt width – 600 mm, installed power ~ 5 kW, belt travel speed – 37 m/min, and extension speed – 7.3 m/min.
Lech Chojnacki revealed during the discussion of Aporter’s standard conveyor applications that motor-driven roller conveyors are already in the prototype testing phase.

At the meeting, it was also announced that in June of this year (simultaneously in many countries, including Poland), the premiere of new Yale brand trucks will take place, distributed on our market by the WANDALEX Group. The current offering of Yale forklift, lifting, reach, and pallet trucks was showcased in Zgierz during a special presentation at the conference.

During the conference, there was also a presentation of two national trade magazines related to warehouse management and logistics, which patronized the meeting in Zgierz: „Przegląd Zbożowo-Młynarski” and „Logistyka”.
