Boom in the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Segment

The value of the IT systems market dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises will grow – according to the DiS report “IT in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises”. Microsoft Business Solutions, a provider of ERP and CRM systems for the SME sector, anticipates further increases in sales and market share within this market. According to the latest report by DiS, a research and analytical agency, the coming years will see an intensification of investments in ERP and CRM IT systems within the SME sector. Many enterprises are expecting a replacement or modernization of their current software.

The Polish market for SME applications is currently worth PLN 312.9 million. This value is expected to rise to approximately PLN 400 million in the coming years.  Microsoft Business Solutions, with its offering consisting of Microsoft Axapta and Microsoft Navision ERP systems, and the novelty on the Polish market – the Microsoft CRM system, anticipates further growth in sales and market share in the IT systems market for the SME sector. The total market share of Microsoft Business Solutions in the sales of such applications at the end of 2003 was 7.38%, securing the company the top spot on the market. The leader outperformed over 190 business application vendors and over 220 competing programs.

– The application software market for SMEs has grown faster over recent years than the overall IT market, which indicates that this sector has a future. Therefore, Microsoft Business Solutions, by offering systems dedicated specifically to this sector, can count on further strengthening its position – said Jacek Chwalisz, head of Microsoft Business Solutions.

As stated in the DiS report, the software market for small and medium-sized enterprises is overwhelmingly served by local vendors. The first spectacular success of a foreign vendor was the emergence of Microsoft’s software for small and medium-sized enterprises. Microsoft Business Solutions provides enterprise management support systems Microsoft Navision and Microsoft Axapta. In October of this year, a new customer relationship management product was introduced to the Polish market – Microsoft Business Solutions CRM.
