Compendium of knowledge on logistics services – a new book in the LOGISTICS LIBRARY series

What are the types of logistics services? When is it worth using outsourcing? What are its pros and cons? What is the state of the courier parcel market in Poland, is it worth building logistics centers, what is the state of logistics infrastructure in Poland?
Answers to these and many other questions can be found by readers in the collective work just published by the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, edited by W. Rydzkowski, entitled Usługi logistyczne.

Usługi logistyczne is a publication intended for students of logistics and transport specialties, as well as specialists in the field of transport, forwarding and logistics. The intention of the authors – employees of the University of Gdańsk and the Poznan School of Logistics – was to create a textbook that would be a universal aid used at many Polish universities dealing with this issue, organize basic concepts and issues in the field of logistics services, and facilitate the acquisition of knowledge thanks to the attractive form of the presented materials.

The first three chapters concern the formation of the modern logistics services market in Poland. The fourth chapter deals with the transport infrastructure enabling this activity. The next two chapters cover selected specific issues related to logistics services: logistics centers and combined transport. The book concludes with a chapter discussing the role and significance of the Internet in logistics services. The richly illustrated textbook has a modern form with keywords in the margins, a subject index, and a set of questions at the end of each chapter.
