Inventory management, EAN/UCC global standards, cooperation in supply chains, improving warehouse operations, and the use of automatic identification are the main topics of the Opole Logistics Workshops scheduled for June 24. The organizers of the workshops are: the Opole Region Development Agency SA Investor Service Center and the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing EAN Poland.
In six thematic blocks, logistics managers will have the opportunity to enrich their knowledge and discuss the following issues with specialists from the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing:
Inventory management
Modern business solutions, both organizational and IT, enable increasingly effective inventory management. In this part of the workshop, participants will learn how to save costs, improve inventory management, and design an optimal management process.
EAN/UCC global standards
The growing dynamics of economic activity, the increase in supply chain functionality, and rising customer expectations have made standardized information exchange standards play a significant role in economic processes. Global EAN/UCC standards are the market’s response to these requirements. During the presentation, information on these standards and the possibilities of their application in business activity will be presented.
Cooperation in supply chains
Market success in an extremely competitive environment is largely determined by an appropriate response to consumer needs and the maximum utilization of existing cost reduction opportunities. The way to achieve these goals is the best possible cooperation of trading partners throughout the supply chain. In this part of the workshop, ILiM experts will answer questions about what the Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) strategy is and how to get involved in its implementation in Poland.
Improving warehouse operations
Choosing the right storage technology, optimal use of available storage space, and the implementation of an appropriate warehouse management system give the company the opportunity to reduce warehouse operating costs and speed up order processing. During the presentation, participants will learn what needs to be done to improve warehouse work and make its management more efficient.
Use of automatic identification
Efficient execution of logistics processes in a company is a goal that will be easier to achieve by using an automatic identification system based on barcode applications. Experts will present what such a system consists of, how it works, and what possibilities it offers. Subsequent implementation stages will be presented.
Opportunities to obtain funding sources for the SME sector
As part of pre-accession aid for Poland, the European Union financially supports the introduction of improvements and innovations, including logistics ones, to the small and medium-sized enterprise sector. During the presentation, information on currently available and planned grant programs will be presented. Participation in this part of the workshop will be an opportunity to learn about the procedure for applying for project co-financing.
