Auchan Opens Automated E-Grocery Distribution Centre Near Warsaw

Auchan has launched a cutting-edge automated e-grocery distribution centre in Wilcza Góra near Warsaw - one of the most technologically advanced logistics facilities of its kind globally. The investment marks a major milestone in the retailer’s digital transformation and further strengthens its leading position in Poland’s fast-growing e-grocery market.
The new facility operates on the latest generation of the Ocado Smart Platform, including the newly deployed 600-series robots, enabling high-performance order fulfilment, increased accuracy and significantly improved customer experience. The site spans 16,000 m² and features three temperature zones, allowing for an expanded online range of up to 40,000 SKUs.

Built in just 12 months under Auchan’s long-standing partnership with Ocado, the site sets a global record for the rapid deployment of Ocado’s proprietary automation technologies. Automated picking, AI-driven process optimisation and enhanced quality-control systems enable faster deliveries, same-day fulfilment options and more precise order assembly.
The project was delivered in cooperation with international partners including JLL, advising on location and project coordination, and developer Panattoni, which constructed the build-to-suit facility. The architectural design was prepared by Tacakiewicz Ferma Kresek.
The centre meets the BREEAM “Excellent” standard and uses a CO₂-based refrigeration system, reducing environmental impact and supporting Auchan’s sustainability goals.
