DACHSER CDO Stefan Hohm named Logistics Leader of the Year 2025 Dachser

Ismaning, September 18, 2025. Stefan Hohm, Chief Development Officer of DACHSER SE, has been named Logistics Leader of the Year by the jury of the Logistics Hall of Fame. The award, presented by the Logistics Hall of Fame and sponsored by Hamburg-based STILL GmbH, recognizes him as the mastermind of the Kempten-based logistics provider’s innovation and digitalization strategy.

With 33 years at the company, Hohm stands for a unique combination of down-to-earth pragmatism and innovative drive. He has consistently placed research and development on Dachser’s agenda, making it a strategic pillar of the company’s future.

The Logistics Hall of Fame jury, consisting of 70 figures from business, science, politics, and media across 13 nations, explained its decision as follows:

Stefan Hohm is a prime example of modernizing the logistics industry and of a management philosophy that views change not as a threat but as an opportunity. The jury was particularly impressed by the practical and forward-looking implementation of innovative projects under his leadership – from digitally mapping a groupage warehouse in a twin model to real-time tracking of swap bodies, and his commitment to open standards beyond company boundaries. With his work, Hohm and his team have set benchmarks while decisively strengthening Dachser’s competitiveness in the global market,
summarized Anita Würmser, Executive Jury Chairwoman of the Logistics Hall of Fame.

The jury further emphasized that all projects share one essential quality: they go beyond the mere introduction of new technologies. They embody the practical implementation of a long-term and sustainable innovation strategy that improves processes, increases customer benefits, and secures the company’s competitiveness. Central to this success is the firm anchoring of innovation processes within the Executive Board and the mindset of the family-owned company – providing the structural foundation for embedding innovations sustainably and multiplying them across the network.

Under Hohm’s leadership, Dachser has launched numerous projects in recent years that are shaping the company’s digital transformation. These include the @ILO digital twin, a system developed in cooperation with Fraunhofer IML that digitally maps an entire groupage warehouse in real time and was awarded the German Logistics Prize in 2023. With “DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery,” he initiated a model for emission-free city logistics that started in Stuttgart and has since been expanded to Munich, Paris, and Copenhagen, with further metropolitan areas now adopting it. The equipping of swap bodies and trailers with IoT devices using 5G/LPWAN radio technology for real-time tracking also goes back to his initiative – a project that enhances dispatching efficiency and provides customers with reliable estimated arrival times. Current focus areas include developing AI, machine learning, and big data solutions with the potential to redefine efficiency across the industry.
