Żabka Opens Logistics Center in Kąty Wrocławskie

In response to its dynamic growth, on April 24 Żabka officially opened a modern logistics center in Kąty Wrocławskie. In its initial phase of operation, the facility will serve approximately 1,500 stores in the Wrocław region. The warehouse covers an impressive area of 35,000 square meters, with the potential for expansion by an additional 6,500 square meters. Ultimately, around 600 jobs will be created at the new logistics center.

Efficient logistics is like the mechanism of a precise watch, where every smallest element must perform its role and contribute to a well-functioning whole. This precision forms the foundation of our organization's dynamic growth. By opening close to one thousand new stores each year, we are able to effectively scale our operations without compromising the highest standards of quality and efficiency. From the customers' perspective, this means the certainty of finding what they need on the shelves, always on time. It also gives us an advantage in quickly responding to changing market needs. Efficient logistics also address the real needs of our franchisees, supporting them in their daily business operations and providing a reliable operational backbone - said Adam Manikowski, Vice President of the Management Board and Managing Director of Żabka Polska.

Ecology and Modern Solutions

The logistics center, located right next to the A4 motorway, is a semi-automated facility that combines modern technologies with the work of qualified specialists. The heart of the warehouse consists of three advanced zones: an automated cold storage area (5,000 square meters), a freezer area (1,500 square meters), and a dry goods area (17,000 square meters). By supplying nearly 1,500 stores in the Wrocław region and surrounding areas, the new warehouse will partially relieve the logistics center in Komorniki, as refrigerated and frozen order picking for stores in the Wrocław region will now be handled in Kąty Wrocławskie.

The new Żabka-owned facility incorporates a range of environmentally friendly innovations, such as a photovoltaic installation, chargers for electric vehicles, and a refrigeration-freezing system that uses the heat generated during cooling production to heat the flooring in the freezer area and to supply hot water to the main office building.

Support for the Region

Żabka's eighth logistics center will not only strengthen the company's operational capabilities but will also provide a boost to the local job market. The newly opened facility will employ nearly 600 people, including those directly employed by Żabka and those hired by partnering companies. To support employees commuting from Wrocław, transport services have been launched to ensure convenient and efficient travel to the logistics center.

Currently, the logistics center is recruiting for positions such as forklift operators, warehouse workers, and logistics specialists.

Żabka's logistics network now includes eight logistics centers and nineteen cross-docking terminals, including two owned by the company, from which goods are distributed to stores throughout Poland. The modern solutions implemented by the company enable the efficient servicing of over 9,000 franchisees operating more than 11,000 stores, with approximately three million deliveries made annually.
